Apple stands ready to challenge Google in the cloud computing wars with the new iPad, Gartner analysts say. Based in Epcot, a destination geared more toward knowledge seekers than thrill seekers, the SmarterPlanet exhibit (officially called “SmarterPlanet presented by IBM”) aims to show visitors, via hands-on kiosks, how technology can help individuals and organizations cut waste and solve problems such as global warming.

IT employee confidence rose to its highest level in the fourth quarter of 2009 in almost two years, according to the latest survey by IT staffing firm Technisource.
